Target Audience

It (1990)Our target audience are older teenagers from 15+, we have decided to use this age because we think that teenagers and Young adults are the main audience for horror films as they are exciting and thrilling. Things that a teenager are interested in. We have looked at other films like ours and they have similar target audiences, for example, 'IT' is a movie very similar to ours and they have a similar age rating of 18. However this isn't the same, we think that due to the age of the movie, the age rating may be too high and if that movie were to come out today then it would be a 15+ not an 18+.

Clownhouse (1989)Another movie similar to ours in term of theme is 'Clownhouse' in which men dressed as clown torment people in their neighbourhood. This is very similar to our movie and also has the same age rating. This would be because of the terror involved in this movie as there are scary parts that may be too disturbing for the younger generation and maybe something the older generation aren't particularly used to.

We hope to make our movie particular to the young adult age and this is mainly because we want it to be so scary that maybe some of the older or younger ages can't handle it.

Our Movie

Our movie doesn't particularly have too much of a specific target audience other than the teenage to young adults age category. Which are part of the E Audience Category. However, we would imagine that our movie would be watched by males more than females because of the gore aspects and sheer horror themes.

Students are the most likely people to watch this type of movie as the horror genre is somewhat linked to a boy and a girl romance. I kind of like the idea of a couple sitting down watching the film and both getting scared, i think this is what would make our film memorable. So if a couple are having a rough day or night, maybe an argument has occurred then i want this film to scare the both of them to extreme where they need to cuddle up together for their own safety.
